The Pharmacy Tech/Buyer coordinates with vendors and GPO’s to source and price pharmaceuticals, supplies, and implants for the surgery center and clinics. The Buyer creates and submits purchase orders to vendors, maintains and updates the inventory management software, and ensures orders are delivered on time and at the correct price. This position tracks all confirmations and backorders and coordinates with caregivers and Materials Management team on substitutes when backorders occur. This position supports and provides back-up to other Materials Management team roles as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as Pharmacy Tech/Buyer is required and 5 years of experience is preferred. A current Pharmacy Technician certification is required. Must have excellent customer service skills, be able to communicate with all levels of the organization and be conscientious of spending and budgets.
