"I came to Dr. Wallace back in November of 2013. I have a history of knee injuries and back injuries from being an athlete. I found Dr. Wallace to be kind, caring, and honest about options for treating my right knee, which is now in bad shape. I wanted to talk about a joint replacement but after talking with him, it was decided that we would try other options right now just to buy some time. I am 53 years old and because of my injuries, I have not been as active. I am now pursuing an exercise program in Coeur D'Alene, ID, where I take 1-2 swimming classes each day. I have already lost 30 pounds and am determined to get this weight off and keep it off. Hopefully, by the time I reach maybe 55 or older, I can consider the knee replacement. I found Dr. Wallace to be a good listener and that he believes in trying other things before doing a major surgery, such as the knee replacement. I have received cortisone shots and recently went through a series of Effexor shots, which I believe will help me to be more active and thus become healthier. I have so much to do up here on the mountain, where I live, so it is important that I do everything in my power to reduce the weight load on my knees. All in all, this has been a very positive experience and I found the staff there to be polite, considerate, and on top of my treatment. Since going to the doctor is not always pleasant, this office is very well run and I have never had to wait very long to get in. If the doctor was late, he was apologetic about that. It is nice to see that there are still doctors who practice because they want to help make people's lives better. I know that it is up to me to do the weight loss work along with help from these shots and I will be ready when that time comes to hopefully get a better knee than what I have right now. Thank you for all that you do there at the office. I would definitely recommend you to any new patients looking for a doctor who cares." -- Kathryn C.
